Technology - retro style

Im quite upset today :( ("Awwwwww" I hear you cry)

It would seem that any of the cool PS2s I know of are dead and buried. Mine, for example, doesn't read the disc at all, which isn't particularly good at all!

Miss Doodles newer, thinner model, kinda reads the disc initially, gets to the PLAYSTATION2 screen, then dies :'(

Now, you may be thinking this isn't such a big deal... but it genuinely is. Think about how many amazing games there were on the PS2 and even PS1 that I am now unable to play. (I don't have a PS3, nor will I be getting one soon, and im not even sure if it goes goes back generations).

-Timesplitters 1/2/3FP (speaks for itself really,)

-Gran Turismo 5 (possibly one of the best racing games made imo)

-FIFA 08 (yeah, i like football, and this is the one I own atm! lol)

-Crash Team Racing (PS1) (simply the best Kart game, easily beating Mario Kart, with a blindfold and a pedal powered kart)

-Worms 1 (the original / PS1) (I simply love retro, and this game is the epitomy of retro PS1, and the game is still quality today, bar the crap graphics).

You might not think this such a big deal, but I will genuinely miss the little critters, though one thing immediately comes to mind: I should be more modern! :p

Squiddude, it seems, is a little too retro!

It's very easy to repair/clean your ps2, just open it up so you can get to the laser lense. Clean it with a bit of rubbing alcohol. Finally close your ps2 back up and it should now read discs again.

If your not sure you will remember where all the parts go, I suggest taking pictures with your phone when you take it apart.
